Ardene "Deenie" Swenson, age 61 of Viroqua, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 Ardene "Deenie" Swenson, age 61 of Viroqua, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Gundersen-Lutheran in LaCrosse. She was born on April 8, 1952 in Sparta to William and Georgia (Buchanan) Bartelt. On June 25, 1983 she was united in marriage to LaVerne "Buck" Swenson and he preceded her in death. Deenie enjoyed crocheting and loved music. She is survived by six sisters: Velda (Jim) Wilson of LaFarge, Arlene "Peggy" (David) Campbell of Viroqua, Irene "Candi" (James) Castello of Florida, Donna (Rod) Stanek of Holmen, Elaine (Brad) Gillmeister of Galesville and Shirley (Jim) Fladhammer of Richland Center; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne; and two brothers: Carl Bartelt in 2003 and James Bartelt in 2007. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 West Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Julie Wollman will officiate with burial in the Bloomingdale Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday after 12:00 noon at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua.
