Bertrand "Buster" Weber, 89, of Viroqua, died Friday, November 20, 2015. Bertrand "Buster" George Weber, 89, of Viroqua, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital under hospice care after short hospitalization. He was born on August 21, 1926 in the Franklin Township in Vernon County, WI; the son of Lester and Hazel (Lake) Weber. On April 28, 1948 he was united in marriage to Betty Kingslien in a parsonage in Iowa. He worked as a carpenter in Spokane, Washington for a short time before returning to Viroqua where he worked at the Vernon County Highway Department for 35 years before he retired. Buster and Betty proudly farmed together. They were well known for their old fashioned farming techniques, raising a unique menagerie of animals, such as their Polled Red Hereford cattle. They enjoyed traveling the United States, visiting all 49 continental states. Buster was an avid hunter, hunting western states, Wisconsin, and Canada. Country Music was a large part of Busters life. He was a charter member of the Western Wisconsin Country Music Association, which started in 1975, serving as president and vice- president several times and was currently on the board. He was a member of the Viroqua Eagles Aerie # 2707, receiving a 40-year membership pin. He is survived by three sisters: Patricia Dach, Reta (Arnold) Stalsberg, Judy (Kermit) Sisbach; sister-in-law, Evelyn (Myron) Lepke; brother-in-law, Melvin (Swanhild) Kingslien; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brother-in-law, Albert; nephew, Michael; and nephew-in-law, Richard. Blessed be our memory of Bertrand George Weber. Bertrand "Buster" Weber, 89, of Viroqua, died Friday, November 20, 2015. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Pete Beckstrand will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 am till the time of service at 11. In lieu of plant or flowers, memorials may be given to the Bland-Bekkedal Center for Hospice.
