Donald Campbell, age 91 of Viroqua and formerly of DeSoto, died Saturday, December 12, 2009. Donald Campbell, age 91 of Viroqua and formerly of DeSoto, died Saturday morning, December 12, 2009 at the Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua. He was born on October 30, 1918 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Ronald and Elida (Flyberg) Campbell and graduated from high school in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army in Africa during WWII. On January 15, 1949 he was united in marriage to Marian Griesbach. Donald owned and operated Campbell Billiards in Milwaukee until retiring at age 55. Following retirement, he and Marian moved to DeSoto where they lived until his health declined and moved to the Vernon Manor a little over a year ago. In addition to his wife, Marian, Donald is survived by two sons, David (Peggy) Campbell and Dennis Campbell; three grandchildren: Dan (Kate) Campbell, Cody Campbell, and April (Jason) Sullivan; two great-grandchildren: Kristyn Sullivan and Lucy Campbell; one sister, Audrey Beard; and two nieces: Elida and Peggy. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ronnie Campbell. Blessed be our memory of Donald Campbell. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Pastor Grant Van Lishout will officiate with burial in the DeSoto Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Homes of DeSoto and Viroqua are serving the family.
