Gerald "Jack" GabrielsonOctober 14, 2005 Gerald "Jack" Gabrielson, age 64, of Westby passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. He was born on April 12, 1941 at rural Viroqua to Bernard and Hazel (Hooverson) Gabrielson. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church. On September 19, 1964 he married Esther Skaaland at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in the rural Westby area most of their lives and for a short time in Racine. Gerald worked as a welder and was a member of the Viroqua National Guard for 18 years and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington during the Berlin Crisis. He is survived by his wife, Esther, 3 sons, Kenneth (Kenny), Larry (Shelly), and Dale (Amy) all of Westby, 4 grandchildren, Brittney, Brian, Autumn, and Brandon Gabrielson, his mother Hazel Gabrielson of Rural Westby, 1 brother Gene (Anita) Gabrielson of Westby, 2 sisters, Kathryn (Maynard) Sordahl of Manawa, Wis. and Judy Peterson of Viroqua and many nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his father, infant sister, Irene, brother-in-law, Eugene Peterson, nephews, Scott and Jay Gabrielson and great nephew Steve Erickson. Jack was a kind, gentle and loving husband and father who loved the simple things in life. He will be greatly missed
