COON VALLEY Geraldine Perkins, 73, of Coon Valley, passed away on Saturday July 29, 2017 at Benedictine Manor of La Crosse. Geraldine Perkins was born on January 23, 1944 to Charles and Joan (Fogliano) Gaglio in New York, NY. Geraldine moved to Wisconsin in 1972 where she attended and graduated from Mount Senario College in Ladysmith. She continued her postgraduate studies in Superior, WI. Geraldine worked for 20 years in the Head Start program in the Ladysmith area. She continued working in the teaching field after moving to the southwest part of Wisconsin. She ended up settling in Coon Valley for the last 15 years. She enjoyed volunteering for numerous charitable organizations and shooting outdoor photography. She also loved taking her grandchildren on educational field trips. Geraldine is survived by her sister, Marrianne (Gaglio) Smith of Ocala, FL; her children: Michael Perkins of Coon Valley and Lorrie Paddock of Ladysmith; her grandchildren: Sean Perkins, Skye (Josh Schuelke) Wilder, Lance (Carrie Woodford) Wilder, and Jesse Paddock and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles. Funeral Services will be held at 4pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Vosseteig Funeral Home (708 S Main St.) in Westby. Fr. Joseph Arokiam will officiate with burial to follow in the St Marys Cemetery in rural Coon Valley. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 3pm till the time of service at 4.
