Grace M. Marshall, age 88, of La Farge, died Monday, June 10, 2019 Grace M. Marshall, age 88, of La Farge, passed away suddenly but peacefully Monday, June 10, 2019 at Vernon Memorial Hospital. Grace was born June 13, 1930 to the late Otto and Mary (Job) Wolfe. Grace graduated from La Farge High School and went on to attend Vernon County Normal to become a teacher. She first taught at Sandhill Country School as well as several other schools in the area. Grace married Bill Marshall on December 27, 1955. Together they celebrated 63 plus years of marriage. As their family grew, Grace transitioned to being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Once the children were in school, she returned to the classroom herself as a teachers assistant at the La Farge Elementary School. Grace was always actively involved in her childrens activities, including serving as a 4-H leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a talented quilter and made many quilts for her family and friends. She enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers. Grace had a fondness for Polka Music. She loved spending time with family and used her crafting skills to make keepsakes for her children and grandchildren. Grace was a one of a kind person. Grace is survived by her husband, Bill Marshall; 6 children: Susan (Joseph) Ipsen of Orfordville, WI, Bill Marshall of Holmen, WI; Barbara (Daniel) Dupuis of Mosinee, WI; John (Kelly Meyers) Marshall of Galena, IL; Gary Marshall of La Crosse, WI and Diane Marshall of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren: Madeleine, Melissa, Paul, Diandra and Kami; several great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Marie Wolfe, Faye Wolfe, Kenneth Wolfe, Darwin Wolfe, Darlene Tormey, Pete Donald Wolfe, Erma Curtis. Memorial Services for Grace will be held Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the La Farge Free Methodist Church, 214 S. Cherry St, at 11a.m. Visitation will be held from 10 -11a.m. at the church. Grace will be laid to rest at Home Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, Graces family would appreciate it if you made a donation to the La Farge Schools Alumi Student Scholarship Fund. Graces family would like to thank the caring staff at Maplewood Assisted Living, Vernon Memorial Hospital and Dr. Deline and his staff for their compassion and care.
