Henry "Hank" Hysel

Henry “Hank” LeRoy Hysel, age 72, of La Farge, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at his home. Hank was born to the late Francis and Margaret (Fosdal) Hysel on August 20, 1952, in Viroqua. He was the first-born twin to his brother Frank. Hank graduated from Viroqua High School in 1971. He lived in the La Farge area his whole life. He worked at the La Farge Cheese Factory, the Houston Mink Ranch, did farm and tobacco work, and the sawmill for many years. Hank liked watching and talking about football, basketball, and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed going to the casino, buying lottery tickets, making sports bets, and sitting on the main street bench watching the world go by.

Hank is survived by his twin brother, Frank Hysel of Viroqua; his sister, Wanda (Hysel) Rush of La Farge; his nephews, David Blum and Aaron Rush; his nieces, Trisha (Rush) Johnson and Malinda Hysel; his great-nephews, John Rush, Owen Blum, and Cody Johnson; and his great-nieces, Teresa Couey, Jewels Johnson, and Madison Rush.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret; his sister, Mary (Hysel) Rose, and his brother-in-law, Robert Rush.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Vosseteig Funeral Home in La Farge. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at the Bear Creek Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.vossfh.com.

Hank’s family would like to thank Laurie Rynes for her friendship and home care for the past year. Also, thanks to St. Croix Hospice for the care and comfort and for making it possible for Hank to stay at home for his final journey. Also, thanks to his nephew Aaron Rush for always being there and helping.
