Janice Hendrickson

Janice M. Hendrickson, age 84 of Viroqua passed away early Wednesday morning, June 25, 2014 at the Norseland Nursing Home. She was born on March 7, 1930 in Freeman Township, Crawford County to Julius and Clara (Turben) Raaum. On October 4, 1958 she was united in marriage to Harold Hendrickson at South West Prairie Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and worked at Federal Land Bank for many years. Janice had also worked at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home. Janice was a member of Bad Axe Lutheran Church and formerly a member of South West Prairie Lutheran Church. In 1998 after retiring from farming, she moved into Viroqua. She is survived by her children: Ralph (Nicole) Hendrickson and Phyllis (Todd) Kirking all of Viroqua; four grandchildren: Eric Kirking (and Megan), Nicholas Kirking, Kathryn Swenson and Tahmara Hendrickson; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on July 18, 1987; three children who died in infancy and one sister who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bad Axe Lutheran Church at Purdy. Pastors Donald Greven and Jim Folz will officiate with burial in the South West Prairie Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Monday after 10 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
