Jason Gray, 54, of rural De Soto died Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Jason R Gray of DeSoto, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born in Portage, Wisconsin, to Robert E. and Anna Mae (Coutant) Gray on March 26, 1958 where he was raised; he later resided in Ojibwa, Wisconsin. Jason spent the last twenty years residing in Caledonia, Minnesota where he raised his four daughters. Jason served in the army upon graduating from high school. He married his soul mate Sharon Schneider on October 29, 1975 and together they embarked upon countless adventures before starting a family and eventually having four girls. Jason retired from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2008. Jason enjoyed music and was commonly known as radio personality "Chong" on La Crosses 95.7 The Rock. He also was an avid sports fan especially of the Green Bay Packers. Jason spent as much time as possible enjoying the outdoors. Jason was a devoted husband and father whom wanted nothing more in life than to grow old in the company of his family. Jason is survived by his wife and constant companion, Sharon; His four daughters Robin of Madison, WI, Amber of Rochester, MN, Raven of Onalaska, WI, Codi of La Crosse, WI. Two brothers Terry (Joann) of Madison, WI and Rory of Jackson, MI. Three half brothers Gary (Charlotte) Wruck of North Carolina, Sterling (Lorraine) Gray of Pardeeville, WI and Roger Gray of Portage, WI. Jason is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: David, Donald and Togo, his sister Judy Jernigan and her daughter Tracey Kok (niece). Jasons life was nothing less than extraordinary as he lived life on his own terms. His high spirits and easy going nature was felt by everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. He will be deeply missed and will always be in our hearts. A memorial service will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Pettibone Park Lagoon Shelter in La Crosse. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of De Soto is serving the family.
