Judy A. Bichler

November 3, 1950 — December 20, 2007

Judy A. Bichler, age 57 of rural Viroqua, died Thursday, December 20, 2007. Judy A. Bichler, age 57 of rural Viroqua, died early Thursday morning, December 20, 2007 at Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse from cancer. She was born on November 3, 1950 in Glendale, California to Richard and Phyllis (Bensen) Prescher. On September 3, 1977 she was united in marriage to Paul Bichler near Rockford, IL. Judy enjoyed gardening and had a "green thumb": She could make anything grow! She also enjoyed animals and was fond of her Shetland Ponies; her dogs, cats and birds. Judy was an amazing artist and worked with multiple media including pottery, oil painting, and charcoal. She recently reflected on her life and made the statement: "I am an artist". This captured a large part of her life, but her true identity was largely defined by her desire to put her family first and take care of their needs before her own. This included her concern for her parents, children, grandchildren and her loving husband, Paul. In addition to her husband, Paul, Judy is survived by four daughters: Michelle, Christine, Amy and Carrie; three grandchildren: Michael and Shawn Lentz and Caitlyn Turben; her parents, Richard and Phyllis Prescher of Cashton; three sisters: Nancy (Eddie) LeRoy of Florida, Terri Gerhardt of Illinois, and Kathy Prescher of Cashton; one brother, Richard (Julie) Prescher of Florida; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, John Prescher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Viroqua. Father Robert J. Cook will celebrate the Mass. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua, or at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
