Kenneth Kraemer, 93, of La Farge, died Sunday, November 4, 2018. Kenneth C. Kraemer, age 93, passed away peacefully at Vernon Memorial Hospital under hospice care on November 4, 2018, after a brief illness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather. Ken was born in Medford, WI, in 1925 to Joseph and Maureen Kraemer and he grew up in Marshfield, WI, with 11 siblings. After high school, Ken joined the Navy Seabees and he served in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war, Ken attended St. Norbert College and Marquette University for degrees in accounting and marketing. He married his loving wife of 57 years, Elaine (Drews) in 1946. Ken was employed by the Standard Oil Company for 36 years, and he was able to retire at the young age of 58. He enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, bowling, walking, swimming, bicycling, and working out at his local health club. He continued to ride his bike and bowl in a league until age 89. Ken was known for his kindness, humor, respect for others, devotion, and generosity. He was a gentle soul. Ken is survived by his daughter, Geri (Steve) Hall of La Farge, WI, son Tom (Kim) Kraemer of Pawcatuck, CT, brother Mike (Melanie) of Richmond, IN, sister Mickey Guldan of Marshfield, WI, and sister Rachel Derge of Marshfield, WI. Also surviving are grandchildren Heather (Steve) Goldman of St. John, IN, and Holli (Jason) Stella of Chandler AZ, Jaime Babin of Graniteville, VT, Allen Babin of West Greenwich, RI, great grandchildren Clayton, Carter, Gavin, Justin, Adrianna, Lilly, Finley, Charlie and many nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration for Ken will be held in Illinois in the Spring, when his ashes will be interred with his wife, Elaine, at Lincoln National Cemetery.
