Leonard H. Sisbach, 82, of Viroqua died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 Leonard Sisbach, 82, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2014 with his family by his side. He was born on February 2, 1932 to Ernest and Aleda Sisbach who raised their three children: Gordon, Leonard and Orland with Harold and Ruby Sisbach and their two children: Jim and Eileen at a farm they worked together on Pleasant Ridge. Leonard graduated from Viroqua High School in 1949 and joined the United States Army where he was awarded a Korean Service Ribbon with Bronze Service Star. He married Hope Benson on January 26, 1957. They raised their family in Viroqua, with Hope working at Viroqua Telephone and Leonard working a variety of jobs including farming, butter making, appliance repair, milk transportation and the Viroqua School system. He is survived by his wife, Hope; brother, Gordon (Phyllis); cousin, Eileen Getter (Ray); sisters-in-law: Darlene Sisbach, Lila Morrison (Clair) and Cindy Lindvig; daughter, Sue Olson (Dennis); grandsons: Eric Olson (Jerri and Brent) and Dan Olson (Stacy); son, Steve (Sarah); step-grandchildren: Greg Stutz (Andrea, Keagan and Heuer); Kristin Stutz (Rob and Lindsey Stapel); and numerous nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, William and Marie Benson; brother, Orland; cousin, Jim Sisbach; son, Scott; grandson, Michael Olson; and brother-in-law, Jim Lindvig. He loved a good laugh, fishing on the Mississippi River, riding his motorcycle, cooking and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Rev. Margaret Eiben Hoversten will officiate with burial to follow in Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St, in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In Lieu of flowers or plants, memorial contributions may be made to charity of donors choice. Online condolences may be offered at www.vossfh.com. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
