VIROQUA Marie Ann Oldenburg, age 84 of rural Viroqua, died Friday January 12, 2018 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. Marie Ann Oldenburg, 84, of rural Viroqua, WI, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Marie was born at her family home in the town of harmony on July 23, 1933, to Edwin Hugo and Ida Caroline (Manske) Manske. She graduated from Viroqua High School in 1951 and on August 16,1952, married her high school sweetheart, Wesley Carl Oldenburg. Marie was a farm wife and homemaker who loved working in her garden, sewing, cooking and serving many delicious meals to her family and friends around the farms kitchen table. She was a 4-H leader, member of the Homemakers club, and active in her church, the Viroqua Church of Christ. She had a love of genealogy and always knew who was related to who. Above all, she treasured time with her family as a mother, grandmother, wife and living for the Lord. Marie is survived by her children: Jane Oldenburg of Lake Delton, WI, James (Nanette) Oldenburg of Viroqua, WI, Barbara (Ben) Hoffland of Sparta, WI, and Loren (Linda) Oldenburg of Viroqua, WI; and grandchildren: Luke Oldenburg of Hudson, WI, Malena (Nic) Lupient of Onalaska, WI, Mark (Britt) Oldenburg of Onalaska, WI, Wesley Oldenburg and fianc,Megan Grahm of Minneapolis, MN, Miranda Hoffland of Sparta, WI, Matthew Hoffland of Sparta, WI, Kathryn Hoffland of Sparta, WI and fianc,Benjamin Strasser of Minneapolis, MN, Stephen Hoffland of La Crosse, WI and Kirstin Hoffland of Sparta, WI; great-grandchildren: Greyson Oldenburg, Emersyn Oldenburg, Nolan Oldenburg, Collins Oldenburg and Lilia Lupient. Also surviving are her brother, Gerald (Judy) Manske of La Crosse, WI, sister-in-law, Bernice Cade of Mount Pulaski, IL; along with double cousins: Arlene Wehling, and Sally (Donald) Bay; and other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Marie was proceeded in death by her husband,Wesley; parents and brothers: Eldred (Marge) Manske, Rueben (Marge) Manske; brother-in-laws: Arnold (Helen) Oldenburg, George Weber and Bob Cade. Blessed be our memories of Marie. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Viroqua Church of Christ. Reverend Ray Matteson will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call during a visitation on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S Main St. (Hwy 14) in Westby, WI.
