Monte D. Mehlum, age 45 of Westby, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 Monte D. Mehlum, age 45 of Westby, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born on August 31, 1962 to Marvin and Esther 'Peggy' (Onshus) Mehlum. He lived in the same house since childhood and loved the house and the family memories it held. Monte attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in LaCrosse for two years in the accounting program. He worked at Central Express in Westby. Monte loved and took great care of his cats. He loved music and had a great singing voice. His faith helped him cope with the many adversities handed him in the form of heatlh problems. He is survived by family and friends, including cousins, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kelly Mehlum. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Our Savior's Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday after 12:00 noon at the church. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
