Dr. Robert Peter DeClark, 71, of Sioux Falls, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Robert Peter DeClark, 71, of Sioux Falls, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Bob was born November 15, 1938. Robert was the child of Peter and Catherine DeClark. He grew up in Huntington Woods and Ann Arbor, Michigan. He stayed in Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan from which he received a Bachelors of Science degree and Medical degree. He studied in the field of radiology during his residency at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. During his medical studies, Robert was united in marriage to Donna Lovstad on December 8, 1962, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. The people who shared Bobs life with him are Donna, his wife who predeceased him, and his four children and ten grandchildren. Bobs children are Lisa DeClark, Peter (Lisa) DeClark and their children Olivia, Lauren, and Anne; Robert (Melissa) DeClark and their children Alexandra, Jeremy, and Riley; Matt (Andrea) DeClark and their children Ryan, Erica, Kayla, and Joshua. Bob grew up with two sisters, Patricia Briegel and Barbara Babcock. Bob was probably most proud of his career as a doctor. He was a partner of the Medical X-Ray Center in Sioux Falls, where he worked for 36 years as a radiologist serving the citys hospitals. He especially enjoyed his medical work with children. Bob loved spending time with his family on his farm west of Sioux Falls, where he dedicated fall weekends to pheasant hunting with his sons. Bob was incredibly proud of his grandchildren and loved watching them grow up. Not surprisingly, Bob also had a special affection for his dogs (Brandy, Pal, Winston, Colby, and Toby). Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will he held at 11:45 on Sunday August 22 at Coon Prairie Cemetery. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
