Sharon Schroer

Sharon Schroer, age 81, of La Farge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born April 3, 1940, in Stevens Point to the late Ervin and Lucille (Buss) Kopischke. She graduated from Central High School in La Crosse with the class of 1958. She married Russell Schroer on June 22, 1963 and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage. She owned and operated, alongside her husband, Schroer Hardwood Lumber Company in La Farge. They were proud to serve the community while operating the business from 1972-2013. She enjoyed traveling in her earlier years and was active with the La Farge Meal Site. Survivors include her children, Kimberly (Tim) Walker and Tammie (Mark Glatfelter) Lee; her grandchildren: Brandon (Ashley) Walker, Brittany (Frank) Quinn, Tucker Lee; one great-grandson, Bowen Walker; and other relatives and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; and her brother, Ervin Kopischke Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations to the La Farge Meal Site and La Farge Ambulance are appreciated. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Sharon will be laid to rest in Bear Creek Cemetery. Sharon’s family would like to extend a thank you to the staff members at Bethel Home and Dr. DeLine for the compassionate care they provided.
