Aaron W. Storer, age 78 of Viroqua, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 . Aaron W. Storer, age 78, of Viroqua, died Tuesday morning, January 13, 2009 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse following a brief illness. He was born June 6, 1930 to Victor and Ruby (Benson) Storer in Richland Center, Wis. He grew up in the Viroqua area, graduating from Viroqua High School in 1949. He married the former Marilyn Wanless on September 17, 1949 and served in the United States Army at Fort Lee, Virginia from1952-1954. He had lived the past 40+ years on the Storer family farm in Brush Hollow. He owned and operated Storer Studio in Viroqua for many years. Aaron was a loving, caring husband and father, and a trusted and valued friend. He had a dry sense of humor, loved practical jokes and story telling, was a gifted wood carver, photographer and an avid reader. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and travel; traveled all over the United States, including a memorable trip to Alaska. Aaron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn (Wanless) Storer; daughters: Diane Brown and her partner, Tony Sung of Pittsburg, California and Vicki Kuttner and her husband, Max Kuttner of Baltimore, Maryland; step-granddaughter, Maggie; sister-in-law, Marlene (Storer) Curtis and his "adopted son", Ron Hall and Rons wife, Marsha and son, Zac; many nieces, nephews and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Woods Storer and mother, Ruby (Benson) Storer; brother, Eldon Storer. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Ethan Larson will officiate with burial in the Brush Hollow Cemetery, rural Viroqua.
