Agnes M. Goplin, age 92 of Blair, died Sunday evening, January 16, 2011. Agnes M. Goplin, age 92 of Blair, died Sunday evening, January 16, 2011 at Grand View Care Center in Blair. She was born on October 22, 1918 to Arndt and Minnie (Nerby) Gilbertson in Jackson County, Wis. When she was young, she worked in Whitehall, Eau Claire, and LaCrosse. On April 15, 1961 she married Paul Goplin and together they farmed in Vernon County and later in Trempealeau County. Farming and agriculture were important to both Paul and Agnes and they loved the land and were good stewards. Paul and Agnes were members of the Pigeon Falls Ev. Lutheran Church where Agnes was a member of the Ladies Aid. Agnes is survived by her brothers: Lloyd (Betty) Gilbertson, Arthur (Muriel) Gilbertson, and Hensel (Jeanette) Gilbertson; one sister-in-law, Mamie Paulson; nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William "Bill" (Bernadine) Gilbertson; sister, Amanda in infancy; step-sister, Stella (Carl) Hagen, and her husband, Paul who died on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Joint funeral services for Paul and Agnes will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pigeon Falls Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Dale Moe will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday January 18 from 1:00 3:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main (Hwy 14 S.) in Westby and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
