Alberta Clements

Alberta Clements, age 93, of Viroqua, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Creamery Creek in Viroqua. She was born in Viroqua on November 14, 1927, to Alvin and Charlotte (Wood) Drake. On September 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Bernard Clements. Alberta worked at J.C. Penney in Viroqua for 23 years. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary United Methodist Church in Westby. Alberta’s passion was traveling. Her special place was Yuma, Arizona where she and Bernard wintered for 30 years and made life-long friends. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon McCracken of Norwalk; her grandson, Shannon (Tina) McCracken of Cashton; two great-grandchildren, Kalen and Kinley Rose of Cashton; one sister, Ruth (Mark) Hopkins; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard Clements; son-in-law, Gene McCracken; three sisters, Liz (Charles) Akright, Lois (Dale) Phillips, and Patricia (Modrel) Shaw; and one brother, Merlin (Barbara) Drake. Alberta will be laid to rest in the Viroqua Cemetery. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Alberta’s family would like to thank the caring staff at Creamery Creek and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
