Alice Mae Bakkestuen Dunnum

Alice Mae (Bakkestuen) Dunnum July 17, 2005 Alice Mae (Bakkestuen) Dunnum was born in Viroqua on Aug 14, 1937 to Carl and Lena (Hage) Bakkestuen. She was a 1955 graduate of Westby High School and recently enjoyed her 50 year class reunion. On Oct 1, 1955 she married Milan Dunnum. They farmed until 1997 when they moved to Westby. Alice was a woman of deep faith and was lead to the Lord personally by Pastor H.O. Aasen on Oct 30, 1965. Alice was a member of Vang Lutheran Church from her birth until 1986. She taught Sunday School at Vang Church for 16 years. Alice was also a regular member of Pastor John Eumurians Bible study groups since the late 1970s. In 1986 She and Milan joined the Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church and she enjoyed the fellowship and growth while a member there. Alices favorite hobbies included reading, attending Bible Studies, bowling and traveling. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and her family whom she dearly loved. She also enjoyed working at Wal Mart in Viroqua for 12 years. Alice is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Milan Dunnum of Westby; two sons, Monte (Peg) and Craig (Vickie) both of Westby; her grandchildren, Brian, Alexis, Sam, Brittany and Laura; two brothers, Marvin (Caroline) Bakkestuen of Westby, and Clifford (Ardys) Bakkestuen of Winona, MN; two sisters: Lenore Jensen of Viroqua, and Kay Keuser of Westby. Her in-laws Ronald (Janet) Dunnum of Westby, Donna (Jim) Urbanek of Cashton, Lou Ann (Mark) Jelinek of Green Bay, Arnold (Babe) Kerska of Whitewater, and Jeanette (Leslie) Zebell of Cashton. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Arnold, three brothers in law: Clinton Dunnum, Forrest Jensen and William Keuser; her mother and father in law, Raymond and Alice Dunnum; and nephews Jon Bakkestuen and Aaron Zebell
