Alice O. Widner

Alice O. Widner, age 90 of King and formerlly of Westby, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Alice Oletta (Anderson) Widner, age 90, daughter of Elmer K. and Otilla (Goplen) Anderson passed away April 20, 2010 at the Veterans Memorial Home in King, WI. She was born February 29, 1920, in Clinton Township, Vernon County, WI. Her first husband Victor Raiten was killed in a hunting accident. She married Albert H. Widner on March 6, 1952. Albert passed away in June 2007. Alice and Albert milked dairy cattle and farmed in the Westby-Avalanche area most of their married lives. Alice is survived by her children, daughter Helen (Wally) Safford, Saint Germain, WI, sons Kenneth (Gene) Widner, South Beloit, IL, and LeVerne (Faye) Widner, Crowley, LA. Her sister Gladys Myhre, LaCrosse, WI, sister-in-law June Anderson, Westby, WI, and Grand Children, Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great- Grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Albert H. Widner and her first husband Victor Raiten, daughter Betty Schmidt, son-in-law Peter Schmidt, brother Clifford Anderson, brother-in-law Tennie Myhre and mother and father Otilla and Elmer K. Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Hwy 14 in Westby. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
