Amelia "Amy" E. Heal, age 83 of rural Gays Mills, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Amelia "Amy" E. Heal, age 83 of rural Gays Mills, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home in Soldiers Grove. She was born on July 18, 1929, the daughter of Erik and Sidney (Roghers) Hanson. She graduated from Gays Mills High School and on June 9, 1958 she married Richard "Dick" M. Heal in Beloit, Wisconsin. Together they started the West Ridge Orchard in the early 1960s. Along with apples and cherries, they grew grapes, strawberries and other crops. Ameila is survived by two daughters, Linda Heal of LaCrosse and Diane Heal of Gays Mills; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Gerald Dilley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Fred Hanson; a brother-in-law, and her husband, Richard "Dick" Heal, who died on April 13, 2011. Blessed be our memory of Amelia "Amy" E. Heal. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. Pastor Lorie Betz will officiate with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday after 12:00 noon at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
