Amie Bell Beaver

Amie Bell Beaver, age 92, of Viroqua and formerly of La Farge, passed on to our Lord on September 4, 2021, at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Viroqua, WI. Amie was born on September 9, 1928, in Ontario, WI. She grew up and attended school in the La Farge, WI area and later returned home to spend her later years with family and friends. Amie completed a licensed hair stylist curriculum in 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, after which, she embarked on big city life and a professional career in the Beauty Industry. Her career took her to Chicago where she ultimately became an entrepreneur; owning & operating her own beauty salon. In the 1960’s, Amie moved to Lake Geneva, WI to be near her mother and siblings, Peter & Cecelia. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Lake Geneva until the mid 1970’s, when she moved to Soldiers Grove before ultimately moving back home to La Farge. Amie owned her own hair salons and supported herself over her 40-plus year work career. Amie was very much a people person, always with a friendly smile. Often described as a beautiful person, she was gentle but spirited. She lived the life of a good Christian woman. She will be missed by many friends and family. Never married, Amie had no children of her own but served well the role of Aunt, and was an inspiration for many. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Beaver; her mother, Lucy Beaver (nee: Clark); her brother, Peter Beaver; her sister, Cecelia Casey and nephew Ronnie Knutson. Amie is survived by her niece, Debbie Elliot (nee Beaver) and nephew, Mark Beaver of Lake Geneva; nephews: Gary Knutson of LaFarge, Craig Casey of Oconomowoc & Brent Casey of Arkdale, WI. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
