Ann Bauer

Ann Bauer, age 78 of Viola, died Tuesday October 23, 2018. Ann was born in Chicago IL on May 14, 1940 to William and Clara Grandma Marge Raymond McElligott. On October 30, 1957, Ann married the love of her life, Robert George Bauer, and for 59 years they made a home together. They retired to Viola after raising two wonderful children, while living in the Chicago area. Ann loves Jesus, and she was friendly to everyone she met. She had an amazing love for all animals but mostly dogs. Over the years she had too many to keep track of. Ann was a free spirit and an artist at heart. Ann also liked to keep busy doing puzzles, playing solitaire, or working a word search. She was always ready for a good game of War or Rummy. Ann liked to walk, and walk and walk. She will be missed. Ann is survived by her daughter Katherine Alvine, her two granddaughters: Lisa Alvine and Amy (Pieter) Norden; her two brothers: William Billy McElligott and James McElligott along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert George Bauer (on February 8, 2017), her son Paul Robert Bauer, and her parents. A Celebration of Life for Ann will begin at 12:00 PM noon on Thursday November 1, 2018 at the Vosseteig Funeral Homes Henthorn Memorial Chapel, 129 South Main St. in Viola. A prayer service will begin at 1:00 pm. Two of Anns friends from the 7th Day Adventist Church, LeSuong Sue Cina and Georgia Bink Fortun will co-officiate.
