Ann Baringer Butterfield, age 68 died on Friday, March 9, 2007 Ann Baringer Butterfield, age 68 of DeSoto, WI and formerly of Naperville, IL and Gainsville, FL died on Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. Ann was born September 17, 1938 in Urbana, Ill to William and Louise (Eyman) Baringer. She graduated from high school in Gainsville, FL and earned her Bachelors degree at the University of Florida. On November 24, 1958 in Gainsville, FL she was united in marriage to Del Butterfield. They moved to Naperville, IL and Ann worked as a guide at the Naper Settlement Living History Museum for over 20 years. In 1995, Ann and Del moved to DeSoto. Ann was a member of the DeSoto Lutheran Church, the DeSoto Lions Club, and the Red Hat Society. She was a loving and caring person who loved history, the DeSoto area and the people. Ann is survived by her husband, Del; two children, Larry (Sue) Butterfield of Canton, Michigan and Susan Butterfield and partner Chris Bowers of New York, New York. She is further survived by two grandchildren, Mathew and Daniel Butterfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Susie Weld. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at DeSoto Lutheran Church. Pastor Libby Howe will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main Street (Hwy 82), DeSoto and at the church on Wednesday after l0:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests memorials made to the DeSoto Lutheran Church Building Fund. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
