Ann M. Keenan

Ann M. Keenan, age 53 of Viroqua, died Friday, October 18, 2013 Ann Marie Keenan, 53, of Viroqua, passed away on October 18, 2013, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, WI after a short battle with Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML). Ann was born on December 27, 1959 to Melvin and Swanhild (Paulsrud) Kingslien. She was a graduate of Viroqua High School in 1978. After high school, she attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse and pursued a clinical degree. Shortly after graduating from WWTC, she married the love of her life, Matthew Keenan, on June 7, 1980 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua, WI. Ann worked as a Medicare Patients Accounts Specialist at Vernon Memorial Healthcare for 34 years. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa, Wi and was an avid supporter of the Vernon Memorial Healthcare Transplant Support Group. She was also very active in the Liberty Pole PTO and Vernon County 4-H and spent a lot of time following her childrens school activities. She loved spending time with her friends and family especially her three grandchildren. Ann is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Matthew of Viroqua; three children: Lucas (Angela) of Hagar City, WI; Alissa of Onalaska, WI; and Lance (Melissa) of North Freedom, WI; three grandchildren: Cole, Ali, and Jake Keenan of Hagar City, WI. She is also survived by her parents, Melvin and Swanhild Kingslien; two sisters: Sarah (Dan) Havens of La Crosse, WI, and Kay (Stuart) Getter of Viroqua, WI; mother-in-law Betty Keenan of Viroqua,WI; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Oscar and Edna Kingslien, and Ingvald and Evelyn Paulsrud; two brothers in infancy: Melvin, and Alan; and father-in-law Patrick Keenan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa, Wisconsin on Tuesday October 22nd at 10:30am.Fr. William Dhein will officiate with burial to follow. A visitation will be held at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua, Wisconsin on Monday, October 21st, from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Friends may also call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 till the time of service at 10:30.
