Anna L. Eide

Anna L. Eide, 96, of Viroqua died Monday, April 9, 2012. Anna "Ann" L. Eide entered into the arms of her heavenly father on the 9th day of April 2012, after suffering a brief illness at Vernon Memorial Hospital. She was born to Albert and Mary (Larson) Everson on January 14, 1916. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norwegian language at the North Kickapoo Church. She married Thomas Eide on the 26th day of September 1935. Together, they farmed the Eide family farm until the death of her husband when she moved into Viroqua and worked as a Dietary Aide at Vernon Memorial Hospital. She was a loyal member of Franklin Church, the Ruth Circle, and the Ladies Aid. She was a faithful prayer warrior for her family. Anns family meant everything to her. Her door was always open for company, with a pot of coffee brewing and a plate of cookies. She had a serving heart for everyone she encountered, but mostly for her family and for Christ. She was a woman of great heavenly faith, and spent every day reading and studying the Holy Word. She will forever be remembered for her love of laughter. She leaves to mourn her passing, five children: Marlene (Chester) Ostrem, Donna Van Fleet, Ruth Ann (Nelson) Ward, Steven (Linda) Eide, and Sonja (Michael) Whitfield; ten grandchildren: Kevin (Pam) Van Fleet, Craig (Julie) Ostrem, Darin (Kim) Ward, Trent Ward, Anthony (Patti) Buros, Nathan (Molly) Buros, Jessica, Annie, Emily Eide, Stephanie (Phil) Neprud; two step-grandchildren: Mike (Michelle) Whitfield, Angie Tjaden; 17 great-grandchildren: one great-great-granddaughter; seven step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Agnes Everson; nieces and nephews; grandson-in-law, Alan Dutton; a very special friend, Lois Hanson; and a host of many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Everson; her husband, Thomas; grandchildren: Eric Eide and Lisa Dutton; son-in-law, Larry Van Fleet; four sisters: Ingaborg Swiggum, Alvina Christopherson, Irene Peterson, and Marie Hauge; eight brothers: Ernest, Lawrence, Kenneth, Orvin, Adolph, Edward, Thomas, and Albert Everson. Blessed be her memory. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Franklin Lutheran Church, at Folsom. Pastor Jim Folz will officiate with burial in Franklin Church Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker St., (Hwy. 56) in Viroqua and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and plants memorial may be given to Franklin Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
