Anna Mae GrovesMarch 18, 2005 Anna Mae Groves, 78, of Viroqua, passed away on March 18, 2005 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse. She was born in Barneveld, Wisconsin to the late Merval and Emma (Engen) Strang and was preceded in death by her step-father, Gerhart Johnson, and son, Scott Groves. From being a Cub Scout Den Mother to directing the Lutheran Youth Church Choir, to over 50 years of Bridge playing and house-boating on the Mississippi, Anna Mae passed away just two months short of her 60th wedding anniversary. She and her loving husband, Stewart, enjoyed many ocean cruises and winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Anna Mae will always be remembered for her quick wit, Green Bay Packer Pride, entertaining on the deck of the Annie-Time, and great love for her sons. In addition to her husband, Stewart, she survived by three sons: Cory (Lynn) Groves of Onalaska, WI, Tim Groves of Madison, WI, and Toby (Cathy) Groves of Lawrenceville, GA; eight grandchildren: Todd (Melanie) Groves of West Monroe, LA, Tony Groves of LaCrosse, WI, Tim Groves of Claremont, FL, Beth (Josh) Pogreba of LaCrosse, WI, Nate and Matt Groves of Lawrenceville, GA, and Jake and Nick Groves of Madison, WI; one brother, Merval (Kathleen) Strang; a niece, Lynette Getter; a nephew, Trent Strang; and special friend, Betty Everson.
