Anna T. Leum

Anna (Ofte) Leum, age 88 of Westby, Wis., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 28, 2021. Anna was born August 30, 1932, to Setles Ofte and Ellen (Haldorson) Ofte. She grew up in Coon Valley, Wis., and was a graduate of Westby High School. Anna married Gilbert Leum on March 24, 1951. Anna was a wonderful wife and mother of six children. Anna loved playing cards and always had a deck ready to go. Anna’s coffee pot was always on and ready for company. She was a great cook and never let a soul leave her table hungry. She enjoyed gardening and helping Gilbert on the farm. Anna was an avid sports fan and loved watching all her children and grandchildren participate in sports. Anna is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gilbert Leum; her six children: Laura (Lee) Nerison of Westby, Wis.; Lisa (Mike) Thomas of Eden Prairie, MN; Torkel (Peggy) Leum of Westby, Wis.; Paula Leum (Rick Stegen) of Westby, Wis.; Lars (Deanna) Leum of Westby, Wis.; and Grant (Carrie) Leum of Excelsior, MN; ten grandchildren: Thea, Seri, Erin, Andrew, Julianna, Alexis, Brock, Bjorn, Fox, and Mercedes; and seven great-grandchildren: Archer, Anja, Madelyn, Jarek, Colton, Reid and Tucker. She is also survived by two brothers, Tilmer (Cathy) and Elmer (Nancy) Ofte and numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Selmer, Torkel and Elmer Peder Ofte; her sisters Elsie Gilbeck, Christine Davidson, and Annette “Tootsie” Bakkestuen as well as two great grandchildren, Isabelle and Gwyneth Carl. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or Norseland Nursing Home - Westby. Anna’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Norseland Nursing Home for the compassionate care they provided. Due to COVID-19, a private family funeral service is planned for Saturday, April 3 at Vosseteig Funeral Home in Westby. Vosseteig Funeral Home & Crematory in Westby is serving Anna's family. 708 S.
