Ardyce Berger

Ardyce Mercedes Berger, 85, of Westby, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014, at the Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care. Ardyce was born March 26, 1929 to Carl and Lily Hanson. She married Richard Berger in September 1954 at the Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. After marriage, she became an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. She worked numerous jobs, and helped out on her brothers farm, and helped take care of her two grandchildren. Ardyce is survived by her son Michael E. (Janet) of Westby; two grandchildren: Joshua (Amy) Berger of Harvard IL, and Kelly (Thomas) Nash of Dubuque, IA; sisters-in-law: Barbara Gronemus, and Ann Marie Hanson, both of Westby; many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents, Carl and Lilly Hanson; brother, Virgil Hanson; sister, Carol Hanson; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Oscar and Hulda Berger; in laws: Thomas and Diane Berger, Orbin Berger, Cecelia Burdella, Lawrence Gokey, and Herbert Gronemus. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to Westby Our Saviors Church, Bethel Buttik, the Bland Bekkedal Hospice Care Center, or to the Norseland Nursing Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor John Dumke will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10am until the time of service at 11. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
