Arlene L. Crisp

Arlene L. Crisp, age 85, of Stoddard, passed away at her home on Monday, July 6, 2020. Arlene was born on January 30, 1935, to the late John and Lucille (Steinke) Crisp in Chicago, Ill. She worked as a secretary until 1982, when she became co-owner of an Award Ribbon business with her niece Jody. She retired to Stoddard, WI in 2005. Arlene enjoyed playing cards (especially poker), going to the horse races, garage selling, reading, spending time with family and friends as well as loving her pets: Sandy, Whiskers and Murphy. She was always a caregiver with a Heart of Gold. She cared for three generations of nieces and nephews as they grew, constantly doting with words of praise and encouragement. She cared for her Mom and two older sisters with the tenderness & Love of a guardian Angel on earth. Arlene is survived by her significant other, Sig Birkeland; her nieces and nephews: Jody Piurkowski, John Piurkowski, Francesca Piurkowski, Joseph Piurkowski, Matthew Piurkowski, JoAl (Richard) Lewandowski, Richard A. Lewandowski, David Lewandowki, Joanne Lewandowski, Dale and Penny Piurkowski, Glen and Lynn Piurkowski; her cousins: Frances DeSimone and Marlene Rowe, as well as extended family and many friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Dorothy Piurkowski and Josephine Piurkowski, her nephew Gary Piurkowski and her friend MaryAnn (Piurkowski) Palmer. Private Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 701 Walnut Street, Genoa, WI. Fr. Nathan Kuhn will officiate.
