Arlo L. Parmly, 76 of Viroqua died on Monday, July 18, 2011. Arlo L. Parmly, 76 of Viroqua died at Vernon Memorial Hospital July 18, 2011 surrounded by his family.He was born in Ferryville on January 24, 1935 to Bessie and Leon Parmly. Arlo joined the United States Air Force in February 1954. He married Janice Getter on December 26, 1954 at the Viroqua Church of Christ. While in the service they lived in Biloxi MS, Great Falls, MT and Mildenhall Air Base in England. He was a member of the Bozeman Chord Rustlers Barbershop Chorus and Charlie McGuire & Co. Quartet. Arlo was also an Elder in the church of Christ and a member of New Life Community ChurchHe is survived by his wife Janice of 56 years; two daughters Pamela Flink of Kalispsell, MT and Paula Dickinson of Bristol Virginia. Three sons, Perry Parmly of Rome, NY, Preston Parmly of Fulton, ILL and Phillip Parmly of Yokota Air Base in Japan; two brothers Bob Womack of Rialto, CA and Bud Whitney of Viroqua; nine grandchildren: Justin, Aaron, Jennifer, Brandon, Allyce, Alacia, Jake, Madison, Molly; four great-grandchildren: Abby, Cody, Georgia and Payton. He was preceded in death by his parents Bessie and Leon Parmly; sister Clarice Brown; and grandson Joseph Allen Dickenson. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at New Life Community Church in Viroqua. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 4.The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
