Arminda "Mindy" Ida Cottone

Arminda “Mindy” Cottone, age 67, of Soldiers Grove, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Aspen Place in Viroqua. She was born January 20, 1955, in Anoka, MN, to the late Melvin and Harriet (Skogman) Cottone. Mindy attended De Soto Schools and then worked in Lansing, IA at Northern Engraving. She worked in the tobacco fields at area farms, worked at a grocery store in De Soto, and also worked in housekeeping at various motels. Mindy enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, water skiing, puzzles, and picking ginseng. She enjoyed spending time with her dog, Snoop. Survivors include her children, Jason (fiancée Gloria Slawinski) Cottone, Linda (fiancé Joe Neves) Schultz, Alice (Trevor) Ham, and Leslie (Stacey Smith) Ashbacher Jr.; her significant other, Art; her former husband, Leslie Ashbacher Sr.; her grandchildren, Quinn and Sydney Ham, Teighan Ashbacher and Kaiden Olson; her sister, Violet Jordan; brothers, Ron (Mary Peterson) Cottone, Donald Cottone, and Dave Cottone; her dog, Snoop; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Mindy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Linda Cottone; her brother, Melvin Cottone; and sister-in-law, Dawn Durest. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are appreciated. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
