Arnold E. Kuehn, age 94 of Viroqua, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 . Arnold E. Kuehn, age 94 of Viroqua, died early Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009, at the Vernon Memorial Hospital in Viroqua. He was born March 4, 1915, in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, to Edward and Erna (Kromrey) Kuehn. He graduated from Fall Creek High School and attended Eau Claire Teachers College in Eau Claire. He later attended the Graduate School of Banking in Madison. On November 26, 1936, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Wegner of Augusta, Wisconsin. Arnie was very athletic and pitched semi-pro baseball in South Dakota one summer before returning to Augusta to begin his banking career. Later he moved to Cochrane, Wisconsin, where for a number years he pursued his love of fishing and duck hunting along the Mississippi. Moving to Viroqua in 1956, he became Executive Vice President of the State Bank of Viroqua. Arnie loved fishing the streams for trout and the river for walleyes. He was a member of the Republican Party, Viroqua Lions, Eagles Club, and was a member of the board of directors of the Vernon Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed singing tenor with the barbershop chorus. He is survived by two sons, Dr. David (Priscilla) Kuehn of Eau Claire and Bruce (Jill) Kuehn of Brookfield; two grandchildren, Scott (Luz Mery) Kuehn of Milwaukee, and Brett Kuehn of Brookfield; and his dear friend Norma Sandsnes of Viroqua. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Wegner Kuehn in l988 and one son John in 1953. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at ll:00 a.m., at the English Lutheran Church in Viroqua, Pastor John C. Berg officiating, with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta, Wisconsin, at 3:30 p.m. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
