Arthur Perry Beckwith

Arthur Percy Beckwith, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Vernon Manor.

Arthur was born on December 2, 1953, to Arthur Beckwith Sr. and Ruby (Stone) Beckwith. He was later lovingly raised by his stepfather, Duane Bieri. He grew up in the Onalaska area and was a graduate of Onalaska High School.

In 1973, Art proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving until 1975. Following his military service, he worked as a firefighter and was later employed at Northern Engraving. Art was known for his strong work ethic and sense of dedication in every role he held.

Art loved the simple joys in life—fishing, cooking, taking scenic car rides, and spending time with family and friends. He was a natural storyteller who found happiness in sharing memories and making others laugh. He had a fondness for John Wayne, a deep appreciation for eagles, and enjoyed online shopping—especially on Temu. Always generous, Art had a giving heart and found great joy in helping others.

He is survived by his brother, Guy Bieri; five sisters: Daisy (John) Bisco, Mary Henry, Anna, Helen (John) Fecht, and Marlene Bieri; seven nephews, seven nieces, eleven great-nephews, seven great-nieces, and one great-grand-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, grandparents, his sister, Betty; brother, Roy; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be from 3:30 PM until the time of service. Arthur will be laid to rest with full military honors in the Salem Ridge Cemetery, rural La Farge.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Vernon Manor for their compassionate care, and to special friend, Liz Broadhead, for all of her support and assistance, especially with Art’s VA needs.
