Arthur S. Sherry, 49, of Chaseburg died Thursday, October 8, 2009. Arthur S. Sherry, age 49 of Chaseburg, died on Thursday, October 8, 2009 as a result of a work related accident. He was born in Viroqua on January 23, 1960 to Gordon and Eunice (Ostrem) Sherry. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Art married Janet Tryggestad on June 16, 2007 at Middle Coon Valley Lutheran Church. He worked for Rush Creek Ranch for many years as a ranch manager. He loved his home, his horses and border collies. In his free time, Art enjoyed spending time with Janet riding their Harley, boating on the Mississippi and following NASCAR racing.Art is survived by his wife, Janet; brother, Michael (Brenda) Sherry of Stoughton; sister, Nancy (Reid) Ekern of Viroqua; nieces and nephews: Marc (Julie) Sherry of Madison, Paul (Heather) Sherry of Steam Boat Springs, CO, Rebecca (Nicholas) Keaty of Chicago, IL and Greta (Nate) Hanson of St. Louis Park, MN; great-nephews: Bennett and Mason Sherry and Finnegan Keaty; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Merlin and Lorraine Tryggestad of Viroqua; sisters-in-law: Debbie Tryggestad of Milwaukee and Kathy (Cameron) Bergendorff of Glenview, IL; brother-in-law, Mark (Terrie) Tryggestad of Amery, WI.He was preceded in death by his parents.Blessed be his memory. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Westby. Pastor Gary Daines will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery, rural Westby. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 708 S. Main (Hwy. 14) in Westby and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Westby is serving the family.
