Arvid Salbert Froiseth

Arvid Salbert Froiseth, age 76 of Viroqua passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center after a sudden illness. Arvid was born in Utica Township, Crawford County, on April 29, 1929 to Robert and Oline (Egge) Froiseth. He served in the Army before returning to run the family farm where he was born and raised. On October 26, 1957, he married Blanche Copper in Prairie DuChien. To this union six children were born. Debbie of Mt. Sterling; Robert (Janet) of Soldiers Grove; Lori (Jeff) Kjos of Boscobel; Karen (Brian) Youngs of Bangor; Shirley Pierce of Madison; and Sarah (Roger) Ondeck of West Salem. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and 16 grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Esther Lester of Viroqua; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers: Stanley, Rueben, Marvin, Harold; his sister, Mabel Cole; and grandson, Mathew Pierce. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Southwest Prairie Lutheran Church with Pastor Helen Johnson officiating. Burial, with military rites by Wm. Scoville American Legion Post # 220 will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
