Avanelle Nell Widner

Avanelle Nell (DeWitt) Widner, 91, of Westby passed away Dec 29th, 2013. She was born August 29, 1922 to the late Stanley and Rena (Storer) DeWitt. Nell loved music, performing on the radio when she was young and later with the Sweet Adelines, eventually becoming the director. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing and crocheting. Many a relative has a hand made blanket or quilt made just for them. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ralph; brother-in-law, Raymond (Edith) Widner; daughters, Pam (Jerry) Hilgers, Becky (David) Banaszynski and Lisa (Michael) LaBissoniere; grandchildren, Mickey (Cory Greenberg) Hilgers, Lori (Jason) DeHaai, Kari (Chad) Hoyum and Jacob LaBissoniere; six great-grandchildren; numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents and son, Michael. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Vosseteig Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
