Avanelle Widner

Avanelle Widner, formerly of Westby, died December 29, 2013. Avanelle Nell (DeWitt) Widner, 91, formerly of Westby passed away Dec 29th, 2013. She was born August 29, 1922 to the late Stanley and Rena (Storer) DeWitt. Nell loved music, performing on the radio when she was young and later with the Sweet Adelines, eventually becoming the director. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing and crocheting. Many a relative has a hand made blanket or quilt made just for them. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ralph, brother-in-law Raymond (Edith) Widner, daughters Pam (Jerry) Hilgers, Becky (David) Banaszynski and Lisa (Michael) LaBissoniere, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by both parents and son Michael. A memorial service will be held in the spring and announced separately.
