Avis Offerdahl, 88, of Boscobel, died Saturday, November 19, 2016. Avis Marie Offerdahl, 88, of Boscobel, died early Saturday morning, November 19th 2016 at the Boscobel Health Care Center in Boscobel. She was born October 6, 1928 in Vernon County to Jacob and Valeda Akright. On November 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Clarence Offerdahl and together they farmed on Asbury Ridge near Viroqua. She enjoyed cooking and was very good at it, which made holidays very special. She very much enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was very proud of them. She enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing her cooking with them. Avis is survived by one son, Larry Offerdahl of Mondovi; one daughter, Shirley Olson of Viroqua; two grandchildren: Amy Olson and Lars Offerdahl; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Olson; sisters-in-law: Mallie Gald of Viroqua, and Arlene Offerdahl of Viroqua. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Offerdahl; one sister, Stella Blood; brothers: Silas Garlick, John Garlick, Charles Akright, and Vernie Akright. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pastor Yvonne Marshall will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends and Family are invited to join in a lunch after the burial. Friends may call at the church from 11am till the time of service at 1. In lieu of plants or flowers, memorial may be given to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, the Good Shepherd Sunday School, or an organization of the donors choice.
