Bedena L. Jacobson

Bedena L. Jacobson, age 88 of Viroqua and formerly of LaFarge, died Sunday, February 18, 2018. Bedena, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in Lacrosse, on Sunday, February 18th, 2018. Bedena was born to Eldon and Lulah Daughabaugh on August 30th, 1929. She was united in marriage to John Jacobson on November 3rd, 1948. She was an active church member, teacher and superintendent at the Salem Ridge Church. She donated her time to her childrens school, the Eagles Auxiliary, and was President, Secretary and Treasurer for W.S.C.S. Bedena was a fun and loving lady. She always saw the positives in people and in her life. She brought people together whether it was playing cards, gambling, dancing, or cooking. Her infectious laughter always brought joy to others. She loved her family fiercely and cherished their times together. For many years, the cabin and farm were the social hubs for family and friends. She is survived by her children Karen (Steve) Schwartz, Kelvin (Gail) Jacobson, Rhonda (Paul) Daines, Randy (Jeri) Jacobson; 7 grandchildren Angela (Jeff) Taberski, Tamela (Chris) Daines, Jeremy (Tracy) Schwartz, Tonya (Bobby) Jacobson, Kelly Jacobson, Kevin Daines and Nicole (Tyrone) Fernandez; 9 great grandchildren with one on the way; Nieces, Nephews, In-laws Juanita(Paul) Solverson and Genevieve Holcomb. She is preceded in death by her husband John; her parents; 3 sisters Marie, Gladys, Lavenia; 1 brother Gaylord and a very dear friend Joe Marthe. A million times weve needed you, A million times weve cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still, In our hearts you hold a place, No one else can ever fill. It broke out hearts to lose you, But you didnt go alone For part of us went with you The day God took you home. -Unknown Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Viroqua United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Aniol will officiate with burial in the Manning Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday after 9:30 a.m. A luncheon will be served after interment.
