March 22, 1923 — December 21, 2022

Bernice completed her life’s journey on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, leaving her home in Mt. Pulaski to be welcomed into her new home prepared by her Lord Jesus Christ. Bernice was born March 22, 1923, to William and Anna Oldenburg, growing up on the Oldenburg Centennial Farm in Vernon County, Wisconsin. She attended the same grade school as most of her five sons, Viroqua High School, and Nebraska Christian College. She married George Gustave Weber May 18, 1944.

After George’s honorable discharge from the Navy, the couple farmed in the Stoddard and Chaseburg, WI areas. In 1961, George and Bernice sold their farming operation and moved the family to Norfolk, Nebraska where every member of the family attended Nebraska Christian College. Bernice became a minister’s wife, serving in Madison, NE, O’Neill, NE, Readstown, and Soldiers Grove, WI. Eleven years after George’s death (1971), Bernice married Chester “Bob” Cade October 2, 1982, and lived on Bob’s farm in Newton Valley, WI.

Bernice is survived by five sons: Alan (Jean) Weber of O’Fallon, MO, William “Bill” (Verna) Weber of Cincinnati, OH, Mark (Ellen) Weber of Mt. Pulaski, IL, Thomas “Tom” (Tricia) Weber of Marshalltown, IA, and Robert “Bob” (Susie) Weber of Jefferson City, MO and Stepson, Loren (Margaret) Cade of Newton Valley, WI.

She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; numerous stepchildren, grandchildren, step great grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She also leaves a wonderful church family in the Viroqua, Readstown, and Soldiers Grove churches.
