Betty Atkinson

Betty Atkinson, 87, died Friday, February 20, 2015. Betty Atkinson, 87, of Viroqua Wisconsin, died on February 20th, 2015, in her home, with her family by her side. Betty was born on December 29th, 1927 in Sutter, Illinois. At the age of 17, Betty left home and started nurses training. She spent the rest of her career as a nurse, caring for mentally ill patients. Betty was devoted to her career as a nurse and changed the lives of many people. If you were to ask Betty at any given time how she was, she would respond with a smile, 'I'm better than ever.' We know right now Betty is in heaven smiling down. If we could ask her right now how she's doing, she would respond, perhaps with even more enthusiasm, 'I'm better than ever.' She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Zeke) Miller; Step-daugher, Sherry (Dr. Bill) Beckman; Grandchildren, Linzi Miller, Ashley (Frank) Elwill. At her request, no service will be held.
