SOLDIERS GROVE Betty Finley, age 82, died Monday October 23, 2017 at Sannes Skogdalen Heim in Soldiers Grove. Betty Finley, 82, of Soldiers Grove, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Sannes Skogdalen Nursing Home. She was born in Viroqua Wisconsin to Tilman and Beatrice (Hoffland) Knutson. She married Donald Finley on May 8, 1954 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Kenosha. She worked at Jockey International until she retired in 1982. She and Don came back to the area and they took over the Rising Sun Store that had been in the Finley Family for many years. She retired from this in 2003, when the store closed. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sports events, playing cards, fishing, mushroom hunting, and traveling with Don, family, and friends to check out different casinos. She is survived by: two sons: Thomas of Soldiers Grove, and Edward of Kenosha; two daughters: Debbie (Rick) Huber of Kenosha, and Nancy Salmon of Gays Mills; five grandchildren: Kevin (Kelly) Wischmann; Matthew (Joni) Sturino; Amber Salmon; Estin Salmon; and Jacob Salmon; six great grandchildren; two sisters: Tolene Buroker and Lorraine Davig ; two Brothers-in-law: Raymond Fortney and Roderick Olson; two sisters-in-law Bernice Brockway and Lois Finley; She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; one brother: Lawrence (Judy) Knutson, four sisters: Genevieve (Maurice) Thoftne; Hazel (Omar) Dull; Emma Fortney; and Patty Olson and six brothers-in-law: Joe (Betty) Finley; Frank (Mary Lou) Finley; Gerald Finley; Bill Finley; Christen Davig; and Myron Buroker. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Marys Catholic Church in Gays Mills. Burial will follow at the St. James Cemetery in Rising Sun. Friends may call at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills, WI from 4 to 6:30 PM on Friday, and at the church from 10 AM until time of services.
