Betty M. Weber, age 83 of Viroqua, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at her home. Betty M. Weber, age 83 of Viroqua, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at her home. She was born on November 16, 1927 in Vernon Co., Wisconsin to Oscar and Edna (Schultz) Kingslien. On April 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to Bertrand "Buster" Weber. Betty was a teacher and graduated from county teachers college. She travelled many miles to Winona, MN to finish her teaching certificate. She taught at rural schools including: Clausen, Dach Ridge, Cook, Avalanche and retired from Viroqua Schools. She continued as a substitute teacher for many years. She was on the board of directors of the Western Wisconsin Country Music Association. In addition to her husband Bertrand "Buster" Weber; one brother, Melvin "Jack" (Swanhild) Kingslien; one sister, Evelyn (Myron) Lepke; three sisters-in-law: Pat Dach, Reta (Arnold) Stalsberg and Judy (Kermit) Sisbach whom Betty and Buster raised from age 9; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Pastor Kathryn Ingbritsen will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 123 W. Decker (Hwy 56) in Viroqua. Friends may also call at the church on Friday after 12 noon. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of Viroqua is serving the family.
