Beverly Fredrick

Beverly (Braaten) Fredrick, age 88, of Viroqua, WI, passed away on January 15, 2025, at Creamery Creek Senior Living.

Bev was born on April 25, 1936, in Viroqua, WI, the second youngest of nine children to Ole and Nora (Jackson) Braaten. She graduated from Readstown High School in 1954. On December 21, 1957, she was married to Robert Fredrick. They had four children: daughters Norine and Kim; and sons David and Chris.

Bev had a love for the Vernon County Fair where she entered many of her beautiful antique collections. She also loved to play Scrabble and was very tough to beat. As she got older, sports became something Bev loved to watch with her friend, Gene Schroeder. They enjoyed many games, conversations, and dinners. But the lights of her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Bev is survived by her children: daughter, Norine Fredrick of Viroqua, WI, and her three sons, Michael Lyons, Thomas Lyons, and Christopher Lyons; daughter, Kimberly Fredrick of Kimball MN, and her daughter Mary (Scott) Allen and their daughter Alyssa; son, David Fredrick (Felix Leon) of Apple Valley, MN; son, Christopher Fredrick (Terilynn), of Buffalo MN, and their daughter Anika and son Ethan; sister Phyllis Jacobson, in Viroqua, WI; and so many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bev was preceded to death by her parents; her husband, Robert; four brothers and three sisters, and their spouses.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Creamery Creek and the wonderful St. Croix Hospice team for all the love and care they gave.

A funeral service for Bev will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service. Bev will be laid to rest at the Viroqua Cemetery, next to her husband.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vernon County Fair in Bev’s name.
