Beverly L. Haakenson

Beverly L. Haakenson, age 86 of Westby, died Friday, December 8, 2017. Beverly was born on October 26, 1931 to Reuben and Marie (Lund) Bergh. She graduated from Cashton High School and Vernon County Normal School. On July 12, 1952 she married Earl Haakenson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cashton. Beverly taught school for two years and then worked at Vosseteig Funeral Home. She was a member of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church where she was past president of the WELCA and past treasurer of the LaCrosse Area Synod. She is survived by one son, Donald Haakenson; sister, Ella Karen Lind; brother, Howard (Donna) Bergh; brother-in-law, Mervin (Linda) Haakenson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; sisters: Arlene Nordlie and Carol Bjornstad; brother, LeRoy Bergh; sisters-in-law, Esther Bergh, and Norma Jean Haakenson; brothers-in-law: Arthur Nordlie, Vernal Bjornstad, Paul Lind, Russell Haakenson and Verlan Haakenson. Special thanks to neighbors: Adrian and Kathy Hendrickson and Loren and Gerry Anderson. Blessed be our memory of Beverly Haakenson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor Dan Wollman will officiate with burial in the Coon Prairie Cemetery.
