Beverly Veglahn, age 84 of Genoa, died early Thursday, February 24, 2011. Beverly Veglahn, age 84 of Genoa, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Gundersen-Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse. She was born the daughter of Joseph ad Thelma (Bromley) Morris on April 19, 1926. On April 20, 1946 she was united in marriage to Ervin W. Veglahn in Stoddard and she joined him on the Veglahn homestead farm. Together they had celebrated nearly 63 years of marriage prior to Ervin's death on March 6, 2008. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stoddard and loved the church and her church family. She is survived by five children: Shirley Veglahn of LaFarge, Jerry (Kathy) Veglahn of Stoddard, Rita (Paul) Magnuson, of Stoddard, Betty Hunter of DeSoto, and Dwight (Patty) Veglahn of Genoa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Gene Hunter; one sister, Cleo Jorgenson; and one brother, Robert Morris. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, 219 E. Oak Street, Stoddard, WI. Pastor Robert Dommer will officiate with burial in the Bad Axe German Cemetery, Rural Genoa. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home, 320 Main Street (Hwy 82) in DeSoto, WI. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home of DeSoto is serving the family.
