Blaine Bjornstad, 63, of Newry died Wednesday, November 09, 2011. Blaine Jerome Bjornstad, 63 of Westby died Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at his home. Blaine was born March 23, 1948, in Viroqua, WI, to Gehard and Hulda (Rognstad) Bjornstad. Blaine married Shirley Running on July 26, 1975, in Cashton, WI. Blaine and Shirley lived in Newry for over thirty years where they raised their children. He loved fishing and gardening. Blaine worked at Lakeview Healthcare Center in West Salem before retiring in 2009. He took great pride in the residents he cared for. Blaine will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Blaine is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley, his children, Tami (Todd) Brownell of Bangor, Chad (Jessica) Bjornstad of Viroqua, Scott Bjornstad of Viroqua, Kristina Bjornstad of Viroqua; his grandchildren, Brandon, Madison and Nicholas Brownell of Bangor, McKenzzie and Stella Bjornstad of Viroqua, and Hans Neuhous of Viroqua; sisters, Rachel Berg of Coon valley, Lucille Volden of Viroqua; brother, Gary (Ruth) Bjornstad of Westby; brother-in-law, Mike Jeffords of Janesville; sister-in-law, Marilyn Running of Dakota, MN; brother-in-law, Roland (Mary) Running of La Crosse; sister-in-law, Sandra Larson of La Crosse; sister-in-law, Linda (Donald) Osuski of Sparta; brother-in-law, Richard Running of Prairie du Chien and many nieces and nephews. Blaine was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; his sister Myra Jeffords; brother-in-laws, Richard Berg, Harold Volden, DeWayne Running, and Gene Running; sister-in-law, Donna Bjornstad; niece, Shari Berg; and nephew Kevin Running. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church. Pastor John Stennes-Spidahl will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. In Lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are requested.
