Blaine Davenport Conaway, age 97, born in Bloomingdale, WI on October 18, 1916 to Charlie and Annie (Lavold) Conaway. Died peacefully at Vernon Manor on November 7, 2013. Married Mildred Jacobson on October 3, 1936. Blaine spent his career farming first in Dell and then for the past 70 years on Bud View Farm near Bud, WI. Blaine loved travelling, playing Euchre, gambling at the casino and telling stories. He was interested in the outdoors and loved fishing and hunting. Blaine is survived by his daughter-in-law Vivian Conaway, three grandchildren Cathy Reed, Roger (Sue) Conaway and Carmen (Dean) DeBack. Eight great-grandchildren: Caitlin and Courtney Reed, Blaine and Rachel Conaway, and Carlie, Logan, Madison, and Payton DeBack. Close in laws Marcene and Claude Sebion. Several nieces and nephews. The regulars on Euchre nights at Fargo Junction and Norwegian Hollow. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, son Charles, parents Charlie and Annie Conaway. Brothers Ted and Jay and sister Valoine. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. The Reverends Lindsay Paul Jordan and Margaret Eiben-Hoversten will officiate. Burial will follow in the Viroqua cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 am till the time of service at 11.
